Procrastination

I am up early and should be prepping for a lecture at 1pm, ironically on time management and procrastination, and I find myself procrastinating.

So, when someone (like me) procrastinates, we purposefully and needlessly defer actions or tasks to a later time.  In psychology this behaviour has been cited as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision (Ferrari et al., 1995).  However, this is all too often to the detriment of of performance or learning.

The Philippines Project

I thought that I would devote some space in my blog to tell you about a project that I support with all my heart.

The SGS College Philippines Project is a successful college-wide project that is currently in its 6th year.  I am fortunate to be involved with the Project as a founding member and a continuing staff volunteer.  The Project aims to achieve a high profile within the College's enrichment programme by providing volunteering opportunities for students and staff to work with some of the poorest communities in the world.
